American Concrete’s three
sided bridge units provide
the structural integrity of a box culvert plus allows for a natural stream
bed. These units are installed with very little impact on the existing
waterway and environment. One piece construction provides a cost effective
solution to short span bridges such as stream and wetland crossings and
tunnels. Design advantages include low rise to longer spans and varied fill
depths. American will provide PE stamped calculations and drawings with each
order.
The three sided bridge system
decreases installation time and cost compared to a conventional cast in
place bridge system. Many sizes are available and we can custom build
shapes, sizes and openings to meet your specifications. Precast headwalls
and wing walls of various shapes and sizes are also available.
The system consists of two
precast concrete footings that are set on a crushed stone bed on each side
of the stream. The footings are cast with a groove to receive the three
sided box sections. The footings are cast in 10’-0” long sections and the
bridge units are cast in 7’-6” long sections. American has many standard
